Enfield Town FC Community Sports Development was formed in 2017 to provide community access to recreational activity through football. Charitable status was obtained in 2019 (Charity No 1187221).
From starting Saturday morning coaching sessions with just 10 – 15 children taking part we have grown our activities to provide activities for boys and girls from the age of 4 to adults walking football for the over 50’s. Our activities take place on the artificial pitches on Enfield Playing Fields at Donkey Lane, adjacent to the home of Enfield Town FC, the Queen Elizabeth II Stadium.
The charity is particularly proud of the sessions it provides for those with disabilities. Our regular Saturday morning sessions provide a safe and enjoyable environment for those with disabilities to enjoy.
The Saturday morning sessions for boys and girls aged 4 to 11 are also a gateway to the Enfield Town Boys and Girls teams for those who want to progress their skills and include specialised goalkeeping coaching.
We also provide coaching sessions for children with mobility issues. These are small group sessions designed to improve confidence and motor skills and are run in conjunction with the NHS Enfield Childrens Physiotherapy Unit.
Specialised coaching is also provided to local Special Educational Needs and Disabilities schools and Pupil Referral Units. These sessions help to break down barriers and encourage physical activity.
Our Walking Football sessions provides both physical and mental well-being for the over 50’s and has proved to be very popular.
Enfield Town is an Football Association Accredited Club. All our coaches have at least Level 1 FA Coaching qualification (including first aid) and are regularly DBS checked. Details of our safeguarding policy and procedures are provided here
We are grateful to our sponsors, donors, and grant funders who allow us to provide these activities at low cost to the participants. As a charity the services we provide are dependent on the generosity of our supporters. If you wish to donate please go to our Donations page.
Sport has always been a powerful tool in bring people together. Being the country’s favourite sport we use football to encourage physical activity for all ages and abilities. Enfield Town is the UK’s first supporter owned club. That ethos of community involvement is important particularly in these times where services for those that need them the most are under strain and costs are increasing.
